Job Summary
The Project Manager - Industrial Park is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of industrial estate projects, from land acquisition and master planning to infrastructure development and tenant handover. This role ensures that all construction and development activities meet strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards while adhering to budget and timeline constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle for industrial park developments, including site preparation, utility infrastructure (water, power, drainage), and building construction.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate financial targets and client specifications.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, and MEP specialists, to ensure technical compliance with Malaysian Building and Construction Authority (MBCC) guidelines and local by-laws.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, utility providers, and potential tenants, to facilitate smooth approvals and timely handovers.
- Monitor project progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identifying risks early and implementing mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols on-site, maintaining a zero-harm culture throughout all construction and operational phases.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting milestones achieved, budget variances, and upcoming critical path activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure development projects.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian construction regulations, land tenure laws, and industrial zoning requirements.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and construction management tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with government agencies and private sector partners.
- Valid professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
