Job Summary

This role acts as the principal technical authority on-site for major building and infrastructure developments, ensuring strict compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and contractual terms. The position serves as the critical link between design teams and site execution, driving quality assurance and resolving technical challenges to safeguard project timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily site operations to guarantee that all construction activities align with approved drawings, technical specifications, and local building codes.
• Evaluate and sign off on shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements to confirm technical adherence prior to implementation.
• Perform routine site inspections to monitor workmanship quality, identifying and correcting deficiencies in structural, MEP, and architectural components.
• Monitor construction progress against the master schedule, pinpointing potential delays and executing mitigation strategies to preserve the project timeline.
• Coordinate communication among the client, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to resolve technical disputes and site inquiries.
• Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols, ensuring all site activities comply with statutory obligations and internal safety standards.
• Leverage BIM and digital engineering platforms to monitor as-built conditions, control change orders, and maintain precise project records.
• Draft and assess progress claims, variation orders, and technical reports for distribution to the client and key stakeholders.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• At least five years of post-qualification experience in construction supervision or project management within the building or infrastructure industry.
• Demonstrated success in overseeing complex, multi-disciplinary projects in Asian markets, with experience in Hong Kong or Malaysia being a plus.
• Solid understanding of local building regulations, codes of practice, and standard construction contracts such as FIDIC or JCT.
• Competence in BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Strong analytical abilities and the capacity to make decisive technical decisions under pressure.
• Valid professional engineering registration or certification is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in English, with additional fluency in local languages such as Cantonese, Mandarin, or Malay being advantageous.
